The RAL Room, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you visit ralmarketscout.com or theralapp.com, including their subdomains (together, the “Website”), or use our subscription- and report-based market-intelligence and analytics services (the “Services”). It also describes the privacy rights available to California residents.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
theRALRoom.com is covered separately. Our Terms of Service also apply to theRALRoom.com, but that site runs different technology — including advertising and analytics tools that are not used here — and has its own privacy policy at theralroom.com/privacy-policy. This Privacy Policy describes only ralmarketscout.com and theralapp.com.
The Website and Services are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older and located in the United States. They are not directed to individuals outside the United States or to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
We collect information you submit directly, including when you register for an account, subscribe to or purchase the Services, request or generate a Report, subscribe to communications, or contact us. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, company or organization, account credentials, billing information, and the inputs you provide via the Services.
When you use the Services you provide information about properties and markets you are evaluating, which may include ZIP codes, city and town names, property addresses, parcel identifiers, and map searches. We use this to generate Reports, render maps, and provide the Services.
We derive an approximate, general location from your IP address and may use it to pre-fill a ZIP code so you can start a search without typing one. This is city- or region-level information inferred from your network address. We do not request precise geolocation from your device, and you can change or clear any pre-filled value before searching.
Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe-hosted checkout pages. We do not collect or store payment-card numbers; Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy.
When you use the Website, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information through the normal operation of web technologies and cookies, including your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed and links clicked, approximate location derived from your IP address, and dates and times of access. Section 3 describes these technologies.
We log IP address and device information for security and to protect the integrity of the Services — including detecting and preventing automated access, scraping, and prohibited account sharing (one account per person). This helps us enforce our Terms of Service.
Optional cookies are not set until you accept them. When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow optional analytics cookies. Analytics does not load unless you choose “Accept,” and choosing “Decline optional” means it never loads. Your choice is remembered for 180 days and you can change it by clearing cookies for this site.
_ga, which persist for up to two years, and collects information such as page views, device and browser data, approximate location, and a client identifier. Google processes this information as described in its own privacy policy. We do not currently use third-party advertising or retargeting cookies on the Website, and we do not run advertising pixels here. Affiliate referrals are attributed on our own servers against your account rather than through a third-party tracking cookie. If we introduce advertising or retargeting technologies in future, we will update this Privacy Policy and add them to the consent banner before they are used.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, which allow you to refuse or delete them, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on. If you disable essential cookies, some features of the Website will not function.
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose personal information as follows:
We also use public and licensed data sources — including the U.S. Census, CMS, CDC, BLS, and state licensing records — as inputs to our Reports. We do not send your personal information to those sources.
When you create an account you agree to receive product and marketing communications from us. You may opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at the address in Section 13.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect your account or your access to the Services. We will continue to send essential account, billing, security, and Service notices — these are not marketing, and they cannot be switched off while your account is open, because we need to be able to reach you about your subscription and your data.
Use the cookie banner to accept or decline optional analytics, manage cookies through your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We may create de-identified and aggregated information from account and usage data — for example, to detect abuse such as shared accounts or automated scraping, to understand which features are used, and to operate and improve the Services. We maintain such information in de-identified form and do not attempt to re-identify it.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the “CCPA”), provides you the following rights, subject to certain exceptions.
Categories of information. In the preceding twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as name, email address, telephone number, and IP address); customer records (such as billing and contact information); commercial information (such as subscriptions, purchases, and Reports requested); internet or other electronic network activity information (such as browsing and interaction data); geolocation data (approximate location derived from IP address); property and location information you provide (such as property addresses and map searches); and inferences drawn from the foregoing. We collect this information from the sources, and use and disclose it for the purposes, described in Sections 1, 2, and 4.
Selling and sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Your rights. Subject to verification and applicable exceptions, you have the right to:
How to exercise your rights. Email us at moc.moorlareht@tuocstekram with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We operate exclusively online and have a direct relationship with our customers, so email is our designated method for submitting requests. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, extendable once by a further 45 days where reasonably necessary. To protect your information we will verify your identity, ordinarily by confirming control of the email address on the account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require verification of your identity and the agent’s authority.
California “Shine the Light.” California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request certain information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to appeal a decision on a request. We apply the process in Section 7 to all such requests regardless of where you live. To appeal a decision, reply to our response and we will review it.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common industry standard for it, the Website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing on this Website for a Global Privacy Control signal to opt you out of. Optional analytics cookies are already off unless you accept them.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain your account, and comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, and unauthorized disclosure or access — including encrypted connections, hashed credentials managed by our authentication provider, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Website may contain links to, and embedded content from, third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site or service you access.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on the Website and revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Website or Services after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
